INTRODUCTION

Southern California’s Finest Whisky Experience

Whisky Live LA debuts this year at the spacious Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, conveniently located just blocks away from the beautiful Santa Monica beaches, energetic nightlife, and famous Santa Monica pier. Easy access from downtown, Beverly Hills and the northern suburbs, plus ample on-site parking make the Civic Auditorium the ideal place to host the largest and most diverse whisky tasting in California. The finest whiskies in the world coupled with gourmet dining from one of Los Angeles’ premier caterers and an outside cigar bar make Whisky Live LA an experience not to be missed.

The online ticket booking office is now closed. Please purchase your tickets on the door.

Tasting Hall

This is where you can taste an incredible range of whiskies from Scotland to Kentucky, mingle with the producers and distillers, independent bottlers and brand ambassadors and meet the stars of the industry! Watch and participate in demonstrations and open discussions with the editor of Whisky Magazine.

You will witness the food pairing demonstration by a world class chef, be able to get his suggestions on your personal tastes, and of course sample some very special treats! Enjoy and gain insight from the whisky competitions and other events on the main stage hosted by Whisky Magazine.

To add to the terrific atmosphere, there will be an outside area dedicated to cigars with its own separate whisky tasting “bar”! A special place where you can enjoy some truly delicious combinations of world class whisky and the finest cigars available.

The sheer range of whisky on show will challenge even the most determined taster; everything from old favourites to unusual finishes and rare bottlings. The very best whiskies of the world all under one roof.

Whisky Experiences

The Whisky Experience areas are the education and entertainment zones, with themed areas providing sensory experiences such as coopering, whisky blending, cocktails and much, much more. With a dram always on hand the Whisky Experience seeks to educate and entertain those who want to learn a little more about the diversity of this delicious nectar.

Masterclasses

The Masterclasses provide a taster of the unique intricacies of the whisky world. These are tutored by renowned experts in the field.

Room 1
7:15pm MC2 - The Single Malt that Started it All
Glenlivet brand ambassador, Rick Crawford will cover the history of The Glenlivet, the basics of Scotch Whisky production, and a tasting of the six core marquees in The Glenlivet range, finishing with our critically acclaimed The Glenlivet XXV.
8.30pm MC3 - Yamazaki
Room 2
6.00pm MC4 - Classic Malts
The Master of whisky takes you through a multisensory tasting of the Classic Malts Distillers Editions. These limited production bottlings of the Classic Malts Selection have been double matured, first in aged bourbon barrels, and then in either sherry or port casks. The tasting will take guests through the history, production process, regionality and the flavor profiles of this vast selection of Single Malt Scotches.
7.15pm MC5 - Makers Mark Bourbon 101
Meet Kevin Smith, Maker’s Mark Master Distiller who will take you on a guided tour through Maker’s Mark at different ages of maturity (including new distillate… you’ll have to experience that one first hand!). Think of this as your personal Bourbon crash course (or Bourbon enjoyment course, depending on how you feel about the stuff). Also during this presentation, Kevin will share with you the history of Maker’s Mark, the difference between Whisky and Bourbon, and why Maker’s Mark stands apart from other bourbons.
8.30pm MC6 - Highland Park
A can’t-miss opportunity to sample the entire line of Highland Park single malts from 12 years old to 30! Experience the unique combination of Orkney peat smoke and Spanish sherry oak! Presented by Martin Daraz, Brand Ambassador. “Best Spirit in The World”, F. Paul Pacult, Spirits Journal.
