Whisky Live Glasgow 2011 Review

The world’s premier whisky tasting show, Whisky Live visited Glasgow for the eighth time with great success.

Held in Scotland’s biggest ballroom at the Thistle Hotel Glasgow, visitors were eager to learn about the secrets of the water of life at the only whisky show of its kind in Scotland and to experience the fantastic new features at the show. 

The show was packed with great whiskies and recently named ‘Whisky Distiller of the Year’ in the Icons of Whisky Scotland awards, Diageo, was proudly showing off its wares. Visitors also got to try some sumptuous food and whisky pairings with offerings from Tombuie Smokehouse, The Scottish Salmon Company, Cocoa Black and Isabella's Preserves.

In the Masterclass rooms, visitors got the chance to take a more in depth look at the world of the dram hosted by an array of some of the most knowledgeable people in the whisky producing world.  Whisky collecting guru Jonny McCormick revealed some of the most delicious and collectable malt whiskies in the world and master distiller Noel Sweeney introduced participants to some great Irish whiskies.
