The International Whisky Festival / Whisky Live Leiden which was held for the eighth time already in Holland and for the fourth successive time in the unique surroundings of the Pieterskerk in the heart of Leiden, the oldest university town of Holland,was a great success.

For the second year in a row the event was sold out. This time a week before it took place!

This year saw more exhibitors than ever before with 46 stands including more than 30 whisky exhibitors.

Three new whiskies from Holland were represented for the first time at the show: Millstone, Fryske Hinder and Vallei whisky.

This year saw the introduction of new kid on the block,Goldlys, Double Still whisky from Belgium.

More visitors than ever visited the show.Almost 5000 visitors during four sessions and a trade session.There were more visitors from foreign countries this year.

There were visitors registered from Sweden, England, Scotland, Ireland, Germany, Belgium, Norway, Denmark and Italy.

All the masterclasses were fully booked with 32 masterclasses serving more then 800 whisky devotees. And they were a thirsty bunch too, water consumption reached a staggering 5000 litres from Culligan coolers.

The new Whisky Cocktail Bar and the competition Whisky with a Twist was a great success, and the new Whisky Liqueur Bar worked well.
